Where Your Child's Well-being Comes First

About Us
Wilclay Childcare Centre is a not for profit organization providing quality child care for children ages 18 months to 13 years. Our Board of Directors is a group of dedicated volunteers who oversee the general administration in partnership with the Supervisor and the Parent Advisory Committee.
We are licensed by the Province of Ontario through the Ministry of Education in full compliance with the standards of the CCEYA as well as the regulations set out by the York Region Public Health Department.
Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System
Wilclay Childcare Centre is enrolled in and under contract with Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System (CWELCC). The CWELCC System provides financial relief to families through government funding by reducing parent fees.
The goal of the CWELCC funding system is to have achieved an average of $10/day for child care for children ages 0 until the month the child turns 6 years of age.

Our Team
Our dedicated and trusted staff are trained and skilled in the child care field. All of our staff are certified in First Aid and CPR. Our staff continue to participate in workshops and other training opportunities, so they have up to date knowledge regarding child development and child guidance techniques.
The staff are familiar with the ELECT Document and foundations of How Does Learning happen, which is a document provided by the provincial government. It is used as a resource for working with children and their families.
Our teachers work diligently to observe and program for each individual, ensuring the children are provided with experiences that enhance and advance their learning. We are very Proud of our teachers and their dedication to the children and families.
Our Goals
-
To encourage the development of a positive self-image by treating each child as a person with individual needs, interests and abilities.
-
To provide an opportunity for each child to take part in a program of Educational play aimed at encouraging physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative growth.
-
To provide an opportunity for parents to take an active role in their child’s growth, development and education.
-
To provide a pleasant and rewarding work environment for our staff.
-
We will manage the program to give the best value for the money. We are a not for profit organization and will aim to invest in quality that is affordable.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is to provide a safe, loving, learning environment for your child in your absence. Each child is respected and accepted as an individual with their own needs, interests and abilities and our goal is to assist each of them to reach their potential in all areas of development: physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative.
